New Guy here...
Any reports on crash damage gear? i mean for the bike as well as the rider's gear. I'm new as far as bikes but, My job is combat so I know big hits. I'm wondering, how do I protect my KLX250S from various body damage and comfort damage for the cute young ladies?
Hello again, how are you doing over there?
As far as protecting the bike, do what I have done for nearly 12,000 miles....NOT DROP YOUR BIKE!!!

I know guys my day will come, but till then its all good.
Seriously though, hand guards are a must, radiator guards are a good idea, good boots and a good helmet go a long way, and above all, the best protection is prevention. Take a class that teaches you the skills to survive out there.

Bark busters, any of the wrap around aluminum ones. Moose has an inexpensive set. Skidplate, Utah sport's is the most popular http://www.utahsportcycle.com/store/page147.html , and radiator guards. http://www.unabiker.com/mm5/merchant.mvc I just put some of these on. Surrounds the radiators and really stiffens them up. Go look at bikebandit and see what new OEM radiators (and everything else) cost. I think they are like $350 for one side and $500 for the other!!!! $100 rad guards are cheap insurance. Nobrakes has a vid linked somewhere on here of a tree trying to joust one of his radiators. Hey you guys remember that video game Joust, I loved that game. Here is a free flash version you can play online. http://www.thepcmanwebsite.com/media/joust/joust.shtml
shin guards, elbow guards, chest protector, kidney belt, like Deej said a good pair of MX boots, gloves, obviously a decent helmut and lastly goggles. If your really offroading the bike a lot then a camelback is a must. Staying hydrated is hugely important but you already know that being over there.
I put on full gear everytime I ride. MX boots, thor force knee/shin guards, I recently pick up a good used pressure suit(chest protector, elbow guards, and kidney belt all in one), but I used to wear a mx chest protector and elbow/forearm guards. Helmet and gloves are a must.
