Default New Frame for '09 KLX250S

Good afternoon, everyone.

Well, I received an e-mail last Friday that my new frame has finally arrived and I take my bike in tomorrow to have it's frame replaced.

The tech stated that the kickstand area seems to be beefed up, compared to the regular '09 frame, so, we'll see if this resolves this issue.

I'll try to get pictures of the frame, before they do the swap (when I take pics of my bike, when I hand it off, to verify it's condition, before it's given to them!) and see about posting them.

Laters,
CRT_Leech

Sweet!

Macro photography FTW! (in other words, plenty of close up pics of the affected welds and areas would be sweet.)

just exactly when was the manufacture date of your '09? I've got an '09 built in January of '09. it hasn't fallen over yet.

Make sure you go over every nut and bolt, remember the more that is screwed with the more it can unscrew

Well, when I took it in, the lead tech was not there and the one that took my bike in, would not let me see the frame since it was "still wrapped up in shrink wrap".

So, now I am concerned that they may have not changed anything on the frame and this may happen again someday, after the warranty is up. I'm pushing to get my warranty extended for free, for the time between September 4th, when I reported this issue, until I get my bike back. That's been a long time where I have not been able to ride it and be sure the kickstand was not going to break off.

When I took pictures of it yesterday, you could see a crack, about an inch long, all the way through the frame, on the other side of the kick stand weld, where you access the shock linkage bolt.

So, hopefully, they put everything back as good or better then the factory, the frame is beefed up for the kickstand area and they don't break or scratch anything. The plastic is virtually new still, even after 1186 miles, since I'm like Deej and clean my bike after every ride. =)

Laters.

I'll get pictures of before and after, too. I've been busy getting my new (to me at least, 1955 vintage) house ready to move in, so, I have not had time to create some new Picasa pages for the kickstand issue.
