100mpg sounds good over the 60mpg on the KLX though... Even with a 2 gallon tank, that's another 80 miles per tank...

 

We should start a poll right now on what the final, real world mileage will be on the production model.

 

I do like the bike. I would buy one over the WR for several of reasons... price, seat height, looks. Once the aftermarket figures stuff out, it may become even more attractive. But I love my KLX and have no plan to replace it. Heck, I'm hoping to order my 351 kit in the next couple of weeks.

For dogs sake the mpg of 100+ was @ 37mph constant speed.

Who here rides 37 mph without stopping/starting for any real world distances? Huh....who?

 

I find the faster I rode my KLX, the better mileage I got. Same with my DRZ...

 

During the initial part of the break-in I rode something like that and got over 100mpg for that ONE tank of fuel. It wasn't a very real way to ride though.

Fill 'er up and twist that right wrist; repeat as req'd!! Mpg, meh. Fun per gallon, YA!

When a manufacturer claims that kind of mileage - they're usually talking imperial gallons, not US gallons. Bet it ends up being 70mpg just like a well tuned KLX. And the 23hp will turn out to be 20hp.

I am glad to have another alternative in the light dualsport arena though. It'll keep Kawi on their toes.

 

Competition is good, maybe Suzuki will step up with something and Yamaha will tech down their model to compete at this price point. Consumers will benefit
