Nice! Is that thing plated? no lights, mirrors, etc?

Yes. I still need to get acouple things for it, but it's been on the road for a few days now. The police are pretty easy going when it comes to dirt bikes around here, so it was easy to get the plate. I just bought a smallAcerbisrearview mirror for it today. I actually wanted that for my own safety. The bike came with a headlight and a tail light built into the rear fender. I ordered the brake light switch, made my own plate holder, andthe horn is on its way.

i like that headlight.... entire bike looks great! have fun on it!

Yeah the headlight looks great, but it's not terribly helpful at night. I have to drive slow on the back roads when it's dark, but I don't really like being out at dark anyway so it's fine.

From your old post stating that you need a dual sport kit, I thought you had a WR but just realized your buddy has the WR.

You will have to keep us updated on how the bike works.

Nice bike! I've heard nothing but good things about the KLX450.

Theyare sweet looking bikes. The white headlamp on the 450 looks so much better than the white headlamp on the 250s.

I agree that the lightlooks much better. That is one thing I really don't like about the 250, but it's functional. So, whatever.

I went for an on road / off road ride earlier, and I cannot believe the difference in these two bikes. I took the 250 for a spin around the block when I got home just for the heck of it. It's night and day. There is no comparison. The raw power this bike produces is disgusting, and it handles ridiculously well. I could be going 70 mph on the 450 before the 250 hits 3rd gear. I never really liked the way the 250 handled either asit seemed very squishy to me. I'm sure that could be corrected with a new suspension system or some modifications, but why bother. Same thing with the power. The other thing I noticed was the weight balance. I know these bikes weigh about the same, but the 450 actually feels quite a bit lighter. It must have something to do with where theweight is located or something. It really felt strange when I jumped on the 250 today. It felt more top heavy or something. I can't put words to my thoughts just yet, but I'll think about it a little more.

There are a couple drawbacks though. This bike is not comfortable at all. My *** is killing me after only50 miles. I've looked into paddedbicycle shorts which I think will help considerably. It's not that the 250 isvery comfortable, it's just much better than this bike. Perhaps I should spend more time off road. Also, it obviously gets worse gas mileage than the 250. No more 80 mpg for me. It's more like 40-50 now. The comfort of having a bike that came street legal from the factory is something I'll miss. The lit controls and guages are a nice touch on the 250as well as the blinkers and bright headlight.

All things considered, I'm quite happy with my new bike. I like my 250s, but man this thing is a beast.

There is nothing like having that much power in a dirt bike! I'll bet it is a blast on the street. It is about 10 pounds lighter than the 250 and I am sure the suspension is killer. From what I have read this would make a great DS! Come on Kawasaki give the Americans what they want!!!

It's a monster on the street. Even with knobbies, it's difficult to keep the front tire down. I couldn't imagine this thing with street tires and gearing.
