I have the Q4 as well, I dont know about dBs in reality (it's rated 96) but I know it's a very happy medium for me of sounding like a real dirt bike ... but not so much my neighbors will hate me. My screen is still in too. Might pull it someday for fun. At least now I'm not embarrassed to rev it a bit when the public is present or another bike meets me at a light lol.

I went to the local Dollar General and bought some stainless pot scrubbers and cut about a third off and put it in before the screen. It sounds much better yet still has a little of that rap or pop sound I hate!

I was looking for a deep throaty tone and ended up with what I call a loud poppy exhaust. Is anyone running one of the Two-Brothers tips that gives it a deep tone without the pop? I'm not talking decel pop either, its when you are on the throttle.

I made a 1"ID tip and it helped a lot but was still way too loud for the city of Bangkok where most cops are looking for bribes.
Then I repacked with 15 pot scrubbers and it did help but still too loud.
So then I stretched out half a scrubber and safety wired it in the middle of the tube so it would force more gas around the sides of the muffler.
I also replaced my 1" tip with a drain cap like this

I lost over half the M7 outlet size but I'm sure its still more open than the OEM tip which Looked like a half inch circle.
Now its quiet but I know it lost a lot of power which defeats the entire purpose of the muffler.
This muffler sucks for street, its definitelya race only muffler.
I'm getting a Q4 when I hit the US again.
Rant over.

Idk why you would wanna make it quite, I let a friend ride my bike the other day and I got to hear my tbr exhaust from a bystanders point of view and I must say it's pretty manly.

However, if you want it quite I have a friend who got some exhaust thing for a car that you slip in the end and kind of Jerry rigged it to baffle the sound. It has four bent in triangular flanges. Idk it's hard to explain but it's really simple. I think he got it at the local hardware store

Alot of us want the bike quiet to keep from getting kicked out of already shrinking riding areas. It's hard to get kicked out of trails that nobody knows you're on. The fewer people that know our bussiness the better.

Oh I didn't think about that. Hah my buddy just got a fine last week because some jerk called the cops on him.

I'm not sure if there is any way to baffle the noise without affecting the airflow . The whole exhaust would need redesigned to do it right.

My only idea is to buy one of the silencing tips that tbr sells.

Haha if you have a lot of money you could always buy an active noise control system that outputs the opposite soundwave your exhaust is putting out, and therefore cancel the noise

I agree with KDXmike. Thats why I still have the stock exhaust on my bike. If no one knows your out there they're not going to bitch about it. It's time to get a clue folks. The powers that be don't understand our sport and any excuse they can get to close off riding areas the more successful they think they are. Loud bikes only help they're cause.

Is the TBR exhaust below the legal dB limit even though it is loud?
