Do not use a Phillips on your carb screws. They are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws. A Phillips will mangle them, especially if they don't want to budge.
If the bike has the tool kit, that OEM screwdriver is a JIS and works great on the carb and any other screws on the bike.
Buy one if you need to, it will save you time in the end.
