Default Need a new rear tire

Well I've been looking on the internet for a new rear tire and I'm having a hard time finding a stock size tire. The tire on my bike now is the original one and the tire says it's a 4.60 - 18. It seems I cannot find one that has those numbers. What I did find was a Dunlop D606 120/90-18. I'm not sure what the 120/90 part means. I'm guessing 120 is 120 mm wide. I want to get a tire with the same exact measurments. Any ideas.

Original tire is the Dunlop D603 4.60 - 18

Well I used the search function and it seems like alot of people are using the D606. The only negative I found was someone said it's a really tall tire. I really want something as close as possible to what I currently have.

yes 120 (mm) is about the same width as 4.6 (in).
The other number is the height of the side in % of the width.
So your 120/90 has 4.7 inches wide and 4.25 inches high.

There's tons of chart and explanation on the web, like this one

I went with a 100/100 - 18, that way I didn't lose the benefit of the 13 front I'd just put on. 120/80 was too tall.

I hate the D606, but if you like it, go for it.

Pirelli MT 21 for a more off-road knobby like tire. DOT approved too.

You want a knobby ... Kenda Trakmaster I & II cheap & DOT ; little more $ Kenda Parker DT DOT but ***** seem tall for a dot tire ; Kenda 778 DOT wears fast on road ; Dirt bike mag #1 pick DOT Pirelli Scorpion Pro wears a little fast on road; Pirelli MT-21 DOT wears well if your not pulling wheelies on road; Michelin AC-10, threw a couple ***** off on the freeway.

Ran all these tires exept for the Trakmasters. KLX likes the Parker DT, Huskys like the
MT-21 since the 'Desert' was discontinued.

I run the trackmasters. 100/100/18. Work decent on the slab as long as you keep trips under 20 miles one way. On dirt they are great. I've got 500 miles on mine and it's about 50%. I run alot on the road tho. 95/5. I'm considering the 606, but it's a big tire for a stock klx.

I like the 606 on the rear, good traction, good handling , good wear life. I have actually gone to a non DOT knobbie, IRC VE 33, and have had good results. Great traction and pretty good wear on the street.

Well a few of you have said the D606 is tall and big. So what measurements do I want to be close to the original tire. Most of my riding is on pavement so a knobby is more than likely out of the question. I guess what I'm asking is if I had my original tire right next to a new tire and they were the same size, what would the new tires measurements be. I should not have waited so long to get a tire. I'm at the point where I could almost get a ticket with the amount of tread left on mine. Big mistake on my part.
