Default need help with flat spot after exhaust mod

after gutting out my exhaust there is a slight hesitation at the first few mm of throttle. Once i pass that point the bike runs smoothly. If i restrict the flow of air from the exhaust with my hands, the flat spot goes away completely. How can i solve this issue without patching up my exhaust. I like the noise

Rule of thumb, if you have a condition that goes away with restriction of the incoming, or outgoing air, you have a lean condition.
What is your jetting?

+1

The carb is running lean from the factory as is. Even before a mod, a re-jet is usually advised to make the bike run correctly. By gutting out the exhaust, you have made this lean condition even worse. You will definitely need to re-jet.

Is jetting expensive? Im just wondering what specifications to ask for since i have no idea whats in there now?
Thanks anyway, i now have an idea what to do. Gonna ask the dealer about it. Do you think that while im at it i should also mod my air filter box? Could this improve the performance further? It is highly restrictive and im just wondering if it will help if i remove the cover which is under the seat. It never ever gets wet or too dirty in there so i think its safe to do so.

If you are going to rejet, then sure you can open up the airbox. Just make sure you tell your dealer, mechanic, tuner to rejet to compensate for the gutted exhaust and the airbox mod.
