I see the '09 and '12 muffler for the KLX250s have different part numbers in the parts fiche. Can someone tell me what the difference is? Wanting to get a stocker for my '09 KLX. I see a '12 that I may can buy. Do the later models have a catalyst?

I wonder if the baffling has changed year to year. Has anyone noticed a difference in sound on the different year models?

 

Im betting it has to do with emissions and the catalytic converter inside.

 

Has a catalytic converter been added for sure? Which year was it added if so?

 

I know the 09+ bikes have had a CAT from the factory, not sure about 06-07. Eric was just saying maybe the design in the Catalytic convert has changed.

Search around I am sure you could get get soemeone to sell them thier old one they took off when they replaced it with an aftermarket one. Also check eBay.
