We did it this morning. Oil change, that is. I handled a torque wrench for the first time in my life lol. 494 miles. He told me what to do as I handled the ratchet and undid the necessary bolts here and there. I was like--- is that really all it is??? We did have a few issues with that pesky spring, (like remembering exactly where it fit into things). Used a little bit of lithium grease to hold it when putting the new oil filter and then the cover back on.
I was amazed at how dirty the oil was.

517 miles in one week. I don't think that's too shabby.

 

Next time you do an oil change, bend the end of the spring open a touch (make the diameter larger), put that end in the bike and it will stay there without falling out. No more monkey business or grease. Kawi should have put in a larger spring in the first place. ??????
It is very satisfying to do your own work, and you probably do a better job, even if it is your first time.
