Default My New KLR Six-Fiddy

Well, since jsac has started a Pine Barrens picture/video thread, I figure it is only a matter of time before I have to see pics of DivoDave having fun on my old bike. In order to make myself feel better, I thought I might throw out a few pics of my new ride.

I got a super deal on a used 2007 bike. You folks may remember that Larry (Snal) got an awesome deal on a 2005 KLR650 a couple of months ago. Well, the dude he bought his bike from had an '07 that he was letting go at a great deal as well. The deal was not quite as sweet as what Larry got on his '05, but I am still very happy with it.

Here she is. Mostly stock at this point. The only mods are a Supertrapp exhaust (very nice sound), IMS pegs and magnetic drainplug. Since getting the bike (10 days ago), I have done the initial carb mods (needle jet adjustment & air/fuel mix screw) and tuned the exhaust a little bit (a neat feature of the Supertrapp).

There aren't as many things that need to be done up front with a KLR, but with 20 years of aftermarket following, there are farkles galore that quickly transition from "wants" to "needs". I will try to maintain some self control, but it's going to be hard.

Anyway, here she is in all her glory.

Great looking bike Chris!

Speaking of your old bike, uh, you probably wouldn't recognize it, at least not until it gets a bath.

That must mean that DivoDave is happy with his purchase. I am glad to hear it.

I am a firm believer that the KLX is happiest when covered in mud.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. I can't wait to see some pics and hear some of the stories.

Yeah, Tork moved about rather freely, seemingly unencumbered by space, time, and gravity. His son Tyler on the XR650 was similarly unconstrained. [sm=hail.gif]
