Nice clean up of the back side. Did you just slice off the rear fender on that line and bolt the plate to the fender? Next rainy day we're gonna just remove the entire rear render, and make some bracketry to mount everything.

Nice bike!
acerbis tank looks like its not a perfect fit but that extra fuel im sure makes up for the look. Did you move your fan? How about a post on the install of the acerbis tank on an 09? You are the first one to try it around here.
Thanks,
WD

I gotz2no where you got that radiator shroud...Also would love to have you measure the wingspan...It looks tighter then the stock one which I think is a tad overkill for me in NYS......With that shroud you have it looks like less drag at highway speeds for me...Equals better gas mileage and less stress on the motor.....WinWin..
Thanks...And Please...

Looks good. I think the more I see the Acerbis tank the more it starts to grow on me.
Every time I see a post with "Acerbis installed"a picture of Marty's bike with that tank and the goofy front fender pops into my mind. That was one ugly bike imo. You older guys know what I'm talking about.
f1rocco. The shrouds are built into the tank. There is some fuel held in there.

Thanks for posting pics guys!
The tank::
Nearly all fuel can be used bar maybe a litre in total. Radiator fan does not need to be removed. No adjustment to cables, hoses etc necessary. Remember I took the pics to actually emphasis the tank fit for a mate - most people who see it in the flesh barely notice it is not stock. Plastic color is a perfect match to the stock green. Fuel petcock clears the choke (just) so using choke is fine.
Fitting instructions:
1. Remove stock tank including fuel petcock and the two long breather hoses,
2. Remove stock radiator shrouds and bend metal tabs forward a bit with pliers,
3. remove rubber gromets that bolt to original tank sides and remove metal spacer that comes with them.
4. cut each gromet in half to make a rubber washer.
5. Bolt acerbis supplied fuel petcock to tank - I faced it wioth the carby hose connection pointing rearwards so I can easily reach the fuel value handle while riding.
6. trim each side pannel near tank by about 1-2cm - the more care you take the more it will fit exact/look stock.
7. Put tank on and you will see that the tank bolt holes are within the holes provided for the rubber gromets in the frame (but dont line up extact with the metal spacers - thats why we chuck those away.
8. bolt rear of tank in with stock bolt
9. bolt in two sides of tank using stock bolts with larger washers and the rubber washers we made (with rubber washers closest against the frame)
10. the LHS of tank clears the radiator completely, and the RHS is a snug fit that just touches. So use the acerbis included tank to radiator spacers to ridgid mount the tank wings to teh frame (note that was not done in these pics)

It would be cool if xgx or someone would make some stock looking grafics for the Acerbis tank, I don't think it would stand out as much. I think it's just all that green and nothing to break it up that makes it look odd.
