Default MSD ignition outcome.

im returning it. First off the cd install software was on a mini cd/dvd and i have a slot load drive. So i dl'd the software adn then went to go plug the ignition into the computer. No cable included. You have to find your own and its serial port. Serial port FYI are old. So this is lame as hell. im returning it. Fail.

Dude, Serial is not as run down as you think it is. As a matter of fact there is alot of high technology stuff that still use serial interface. You can go buy a USB to serial cable at Best Buy for like 25.00

I use them to program Cisco routers and switches all the time.

Dont quite so easy my man. You can do this!

Much sympathy... but on the vein of finishing.. how will we know if it's an awesome mod finished unless you do it for us and give us results? I can't pony up that money for an experiment this season

Seriously though, kinda a bummer... I've never had a good experience with a mini-dvd.. not with either of the 2 I've seen lol

+1. Serial is still in use on a great many management inerfaces. The 'cable' you wrote about uses a bridge chip to do the conversion. They're the way to go these days because many mother boards and laptops are shipping without a serial (RS232) port.

Can't believe the OP is giving-up so quickly....where's that pioneer spirit at

I'll send you $225 for it with shipping, if you can't return it for some reason?

I wouldn't mind seeing what a few degrees would do to my bike on the dyno?
