Northwest, Im going to look into sourcing the bike from the US too, much better deals down there.
I'm in the SW...when you get your bike we should check out mclean creek! I also picked up my bike (06) in montana. It worked out to be the same price after importing fees, duty etc...but it was availability I was after, no one here had one.

You're right, I just assumed 6% when they said +GST. Ive been working in the US back and forth since Christmas so ive been out of the GST loop.

For sure, Ive gone exploring in there when i had my KLR 650, but tossing around that pig wasnt much fun, which is a big reason im in the market for the KLX 250. I'll keep you posted with how the hunt goes.

Cheers,

cool. yes I'd imagine that KLR would suck to pick up every 10 minutes (I bail lots myself). Its even pretty nasty with the KLX as most of the trails are HUGE ruts and stuff for them 4x4 quads and giant trucks.

As far as availibility in British Columbia goes, I lucked out. The dealer in Squamish was supposed to be getting 4 '09 bikes in (2 red, 2 green) but ended up getting only 1 red one in. I was on the waiting list for a green, but when I saw the red one in person, I snatched it up! Sorry to anyone who way have been waiting for their shiny new red bike...

Price-wise, I paid $6600 otd. $5800 retail tag, plus GST, plus PST (wish I was in Alberta!), plus $130 freight...

I'm not sure if any of the Lower Mainland dealers have got any in yet...

If there had been any 07's around, I would have looked into that, as well. I've gotta say, though...I'm totally digging my 09. Dual tripometers are pretty handy...one for gas, one for fun!

I got my red '09 for $4700, otd was $4995. not the best on here, but not bad for a bike that no one else in the whole state of Iowa has yet.
