Default Motor swap question. 09 to 06-07 motor

I've got an 09 klx 250s. It's been sitting for the last 5 years due to a blown 351 motor. Valves to piston contact. Repair was just to buy a Ktm adventure bike at the time.

Now I am looking to get the old 250 turd running again with an engine swap.

Found a few on ebay. What are the differences between the 06-07 vs the 09 and newer engines that I would run into?

I read somewhere the electronic connectors or wiring is different but can't find where I read that. Is that something that can just be transfered from the old engine?

Also anyone on here by chance have an 09 and newer engine they are trying to sale?

Hey Cegus,

I recall the thread you're thinking of, looked around, but couldn't find it.
If you do find it, post up and I'll put a link into the FAQs.

From what I recall, the wiring was part of the charging system.

I'm thinking that the only electrical part that may be different would be the stator. It should be an easy swap.
