ok we'll just stop there........LOL.......let us know what you come up with....I'm asking because you said you have 2000 miles on those forks and i have about 4800 miles on mine with alot of offroad use so i really need to know so i can clean 'em out and get some amsoil fork oil in there.....all I know is that my shocks from Elka for my atv i took them to east coast atv and they did all the work for about 196$ oil change and all the seals.......maybe they will do the bike work.....

Just to clarify, the valve doesn't need to be disassembled to change out the fork oil. To do a thorough job of changing the fork oil, you do need to remove the cartridge. This tool from Motion Pro (not Moto-Pro) works on our forks:

I found it for less than thirty bucks. The other two critical tools are a 30mm socket for the fork cap and a 14mm hex driver. You can get a set that includes this from Harbor Freight Tools for $12.99

That helps some, thanks. The gold valve is similar but different. It appears that none of the old valve stack is used.

 

Thanks Dan....I have all the tools needed except for the motion -pro tool which is fine because i can get that piece from my MAC tools dealer for less than advertised elswhere......Mac tools is the sole distributer of motion -pro in the "big 3 " (sanp-on,Mac,matco) world...their price actually beats pretty much everyone for them too.you really have to hit up the dealer for the price tho....I got their high end chain breaker for 57$ when it's advertised for 89$ from all other sellers........

 

MD, make sure ya charge up the camera when ya do this......it's gonna be a sticky.....this will be one that I'm going to do ....... well after yafigure it out.

 

Dan, After reading your post I was tempted to dissassemble my forks so that I could tell you just how everything was to be positioned ....... NOT!

While you were messing with your front forks, I installed the Kustom Kraft 331 kit and my new webcams cams. I've got to get a 142.5 main jet today and then I'll be ready to blast off![8D]

Aw, come on! I knew that you had the valves installed but had sent your forks in for them to do it last winter.

You're going to be pleased with the 331. The TM34 is a nice complement to it, hopefully you have the Q-0 needle jet or else you'll probably see the lean out at high rpm. The TM36 is noticably different.
