Reminds me of lengthening the forks on my pedal bike with squashed pipes when I was about 10years old...excepta sting ray with banana seatdoesn't travel down the road at 70mph.

Wow, ur nuts. I would be so scared to bend my swingarm.. It took me enough courage to cut my subframe for the maier fender! I hate doing mods that I can't go back the other way..
Now what are you going to do about your brakes? I'm sure no one manufactures a GS500 to KLX conversion bracket, as I doubt it's in much demand. Now you got a bike you can't ride with no brakes, and you can't put your old wheels on now.... YOUR DAMN SWING ARM IS BENT!!!
It would have probably been cheaper to buy some cheaper SM rims for the bike then to haveto replace that swingarm down the road + whatever you paid for those, Ummmm, uhhh slightly ugly, rims.. Or replace a smashed up bike when the wheel locks up rolling down the hiway at 70mph.
Now you haveto get custom fabed brackets, and whatever else.. What did you save from buyiing actual NICE SM rims? I actually got some off a KTM I could sell ya, only a little wider..

i have to agree, in the long run it would definitately be cheaper and safer to have bought a set of d-tracker rims or have just got some rims made up.

just my 2c.

Scott.

Just some advice I have been messing with Drag bikes for years I even made a 72" wheel base KZ 1000 but it was all custom made from Chrome Molly with gussets .....in my years at the track I have seen things that would scare you just looking at them and then see a nut go down the track 170mph NUTS .....the only good thing about this bike the KLX is they have no power so he might be safe but its not the way to do it.....I hope he never sells it to anyone and does not tell them what was done[]Trust me something it being tweaked as the axle was tightened NOT GOOD MY friend

But as was said whatever makes you happy
