Motard Brakes for 09

Motard Brakes for 09
Hey Folks, just went and got a stock second wheel set for my '09 KLX. Bike looks awesome with street wheels. My original plan was to just pull the rotors off the dirt wheels and stick them on my street wheels and go. Unfortunately, the bolts that hold the rotors on foiled my plans. Damn things crumble under stress leaving me with some stripped bolts. It doesn't help they put red loctight in there either. I don't want to try to drillout the bolts and risk damage to my hubs. How do they expect people to service their own equipment with decisions like that?!
Anyways, my next plan is just to order rotors and have them stay on each wheel set. Rear rotor is no problem, but I would like an oversized rotor on the front. I didn't find much aftermarket so I looked at 2010 KLX which has a stock oversized rotor. The blocking part for that now is the "caliper holder front". Looks like it's fused the brake housing itself making a quick change unlikely.
So I figured I ask the KLX forum their opinions or ideas if you guys have any. Does the stock rotor size stop fine? Is an oversized rotor up front worth it?
Thanks!

I would definitely go with a 320mm front rotor - especially if you track your bike. I get some brake fade after a few hard laps on my '07. EBC makes a kit for your bike and it comes with the caliper relocator bracket as well. I'd post the link but the EBC site is being slow right now.

Oh man....a link to an EBC 320 kit with adapter for a 09 KLX 250 would be awesome!
I'm not having much luck finding that one. I tried ordering one through Pro Cycle and they didn't see it (in the catalog)for the 09 models.

I think the newer 250S' have the same hubs as the '06/'07.
You can also order the KLX300R kit and bore out the bolt holes in the 320mm rotor since the KLX300R has smaller bolt holes for the hub.

Awesome....thanks for the information!
So your saying a kit like this....
http://www.oemcycle.com/Item/product...ake_Rotor_Kits
I can buy, drill out holes and the brackets will fit?
If that's the case I'm sold!

Do you remember exactly what diameter/size holes you drilled into the EBC rotor, KLXer? I'll probably end up doing what you did since EBC doesn't stock the 320mm kit for our bikes.
edit - Did you have to re-bevel the rotor holes when you bored them out?

'09 KLX250S 320mm Rotor Kit.
Here it is, straight from the 2010 EBC catalog. I high-lighted the line for the part we need for the '09. So, 2009-2010 KLX250S 320mm Oversize Disc Conversion P/N: SM6329
