Default RE: Mods Vs. Engine Life

Its pissing down rain here in Cairns Queensland Australia and I ride my KLX everyday to work and back 4 times as I have split shifts. The rain is starting to really set in so I'm not looking forward to many wet days ahead of me. I took the snorkel off the airbox months ago and the bike has loved me for it. Some nights coming home in the rain I can hardly see and need to use the highbeam. The bike just keeps goin and is running like a dream. You wont have to worry about water getting into ya box bro, unless your riding with no seat. When it comes to modding it still comes down to one major factor............abuse. If you ride it like an animal everyday and never service your beast its gonna die. Oil change, Oil change, Oil change.........do it after every hardcore ride if your that fanatical or every 800 miles like I do. I change the filter every 2nd oil change.
Cheers!

Have you even done the 13-tooth sprocket? It's like a free mod and totally transforms the bike

Leave it to you to make this bone-headed comment.

"Man that's like totally free except it costs money and is a pita."

I knew what IG meant, it's like a 13 dollar part. so it's "like" a free mod. See IG, I got your back.

Granted IG has posted some stupid crap but that just wasn't one of them. I think now you are being the instigator. I'm about done with this Phuckin forum anyway.

I think the free mods cause more ware- because now you will want to ride it! It will also now rev past 6k.

But the engine is still putting out less hp than a stock 300 which has the same lower end-so I think it will last just fine

Let's just leave it at this, something we can all agree on.
