Default mirror question

i broke my left mirror clasp (piece the mirror screws into that is on the handlebars w/ 2 little bolts), i went to the dealer and its $51.00 - 30 for the one side 21 for the other and the little bolts are $4.77 each, i wanted to explore my options since i read on here people have bought aftermarket mirrors, did they come with the clasps? is there a cheaper alternative? i went to the dealer with $40 figuring the part is worth $15 but they would tack on another $15...boy was i wrong , i shoulda just used the visa check card but i hate the feeling of being ripped off

Instead of posting twice, just make 1 post And if you forget to add something just click the edit button to the top right of your post

Do you need just the mirror like

or the mounts and everything?

try running the part numbers through denniskirk, those prices seem outrageous....I bought two of the folding mirrors will posted for less then that....the acerbis come with their own mounts, but I've heard mixed reviews on them (search "folding mirrors" on the forum)

Do they call the "mount" for the mirror a "perch" like the clutch and brake?
Just trying to shore-up my lingo

Also, what about running just one mirror? Most states only require one anyway. I mostly ride off road and the one road I do drive on is one lane each way, so I don't even have a mirror on the bike!
