Default Megabomb welding question

Found a couple of hairline cracks on my FmF Megabomb today. And was hoping someone on this forum can assure me that my local welding shop can fix this!!

My exhaust started getting louder a few days ago & the bikes tuning had gone off a little, so with a close inspection I found a few hairline cracks around the weld.....no need for cigarette smoke to check for gas leaks, I can feel the exhaust gas leaking fairly strongly by hand!!

I could bolt my old header on & send this back to FmF for a free repair but that would be a real pain Vs low cost repair at the Thai welders which is super cheap & a lot less time n hassle. btw it's roughly a year old & made of stainless steel.

Any of you guys know about fix welding steel headers? Thx

Joel i assume this would be tig welded. If it was me i would go to a shop that make stainless fence and gates. I have looked at some of their welding here in pattaya and it looks good. This is thin and requires more skill then the average somchai...

Tig it up make sure they clean the heck out of it and use a 304 filler and that they don't warp it

Thanks for the advice.

Stock header is back on & because of the weekend, I will have to wait to see how good the repair looks on Monday afternoon. My mechanic says he will use TIG & it will cost around $10.

Took 5 mins to get TIG across in pigeon English, 304 filler got totally lost in the translation.....we shall see what happens.

Nice to do a proper back to back test with Megabomb Vs stock header......Low down torque seems less power, just riding the back streets!!

Got the Megabomb fixed.

Took a few shops to find someone that TIG welds but found a guy in the end & it's not the prettiest of welds! Done some miles & no leaks so far, no warping as everything bolted back on ok.

Took 20 minutes & cost 150thb (6 bucks).
