Default made a little discovery

Ok..I put the 13 tooth CS on a few days ago. This of course helped the power greatly-and increased the RPM'S accordingly. I was running about 7,000+ RPM'S @ 60MPH. Now, I've put on the new tires which are quite a bit taller than the stockers. I should have thought about this already, but the tires completely negate the 13 tooth CS. While cruising down the highway tonight @ 60MPH..I notice the tach saying 6,100 RPM'S..and I'm fighting to reach 65 MPH(into a head wind)..DUH! It's the tires! Taller tires affect the gear ratio=the effective gear ratio..correct? When I put 33in tires on my Jeep, it made for a 3.01 effective gear ratio..when running 3.55 gears..had to gear down to 4.56's just to maintain decent power/RPM'S on the freeway. I have the calculation to determine effective gear ratio, so I'll see what I come up with by figuring in the taller tires. I'm definitely going with the 45, or 47 rear sprocket to make up for the taller tires. Does this make sense to everyone??[sm=feedback.gif]
