I have the V-HID. The only problem I have is if I don't start my bike quick enough after turning on the key or if I stall the bike the light won't light. But you just rev it up and toggle the key it turns back on. Usually it's fine but I should just get a timer so I don't forget and get pulled over. Took a while to jam it all in there but it fits and I can always plug the old bulb back in by unplugging 1 connector. And if your wondering about light output, it's like looking at the sun.

I put this one on my bike:

It seems to be holding up well, I've had it in some pretty rough stuff and it is still working.

Here's some photos of the install, as GreenMonsta said, the hardest part is tucking the ballast and wiring in behind the faceplate.

If you're looking at fitting an H4 hi/lo into an 06/07 KLX reflector/fixture, beware that I haven't seen very good results using the OEM fixture. Most people here in Japan end-up going with either an aftermarket headlight fixture or the one for the KLX450R when going to HID on the KLX or D-tracker. We recently had someone from this forum -Learjet Minako if I remember right- try his hand at putting HID hi/lo in the stock reflector and had the same classic problem with low beam that we have over here (dark areas were you don't want them).

Racegas, I don't know what year of KLX you have, but I'd take a guess the 09 fixture can handle the HID kit a lot better. I still have plans to put a 450R fixture on my D-tracker before winter is over, in prep for an HID conversion.
