Default Lowering links question

Hello, I am new here and I want to make my own lowering links. I read most of the threads here on doing them but I never really seen how long to make the hole centers to lower it by an inch, 1.5", 2" ect. Can anyone list them. I have a 2012 KLX250s and my link is a stock 119.5mm hole center link. I have read Zomby woof ""Lowering links (a little info)"" thread but its not real clear. Thanks

thick flat piece of aluminum...cut and drill the holes...longer to lower...shorter to raise...you can cut a long rectangle and drill holes....if it's good..you can round the edges to make it look nice...think you can guess or actually use some algebra using the current dog bone length and angle of your rear...

Does the Kouba Links site, or those on ebay, list lengths?

If you read through that thread, I posted what I used, and how much it lowered the bike. With your bikes height and length of link, you should be able to figure it out.

It looks like I can lengthen the hole centers 3mm or 4mm to lower the seat for every inch but instead of guessing I was just wondering if anyone had the numbers already. Example 119.5mm = stock height, 124mm = 1" lower, 128mm = 2" lower and so on. I work in a steel fabrication shop and can have them made.

you have to also take into consideration your sag adjustments and weight when you want to lower that much...exact drop will vary no matter what....for 2" lower, you'll probably need to change out the springs in the fork if you want to bike to handle properly....for 1" lowering..just raising the fork should suffice....

I used the KLX3, which lowers 1.25 inches. The link centers as good as i could measure it on the bike was 4 7/8.

4.875" = 123.825mm = -1.25" drop
4.70472" = 119.5mm = Stock Height

0.865mm longer for every 1/4" inch drop

so, 126.42mm dog bone for 2" drop...did i do my math correctly?...

but, does ol guy have a 2009+ klx250 or older model?...if he has a older model...have to make 0.25" adjustment for the 2009+ klx250.

4.875" = 123.825mm = -1" drop
4.70472" = 119.5mm = Stock Height

1.08125mm longer for every 1/4" inch drop
128.15mm dog bone for 2" drop....

Links on my 09 KLX= 5 1/8"[131mm] = 2" lower~ forks are 5/8 to bottom of cap. Kouba Link KLX4

DRZ 400 = 5 1/2" = 2" lower~ forks are 1 3/8" up
