I was reading this on ADV, and its speculated that honda wants in on the action too after it saw the KLX selling so good.

Wouldn't be surprised if Yamaha converts the WR250 into a street legal Dual Purpose as well.
Competition is a good thing!

 

Air cooled motor, cheap short travel suspension, probably a 5 speed tranny... big deal. Not any better than a DRZ-400 but with less HP and lighter.

 

Honda likes to be top dog, I don't think they will come to the market with an already dated bike. Now if they take the CRF250X and some street gearing, d.o.t tires and blinkers and then klx250s would have some serious competition!! till then its kawa. for me!!

 

Yes that's a big factor. The liquid cooled thumper in our KLX is sooo smooth and quiet.
