Wildcard, I may be warming a bit on the Ninja. The one thing I want my new bike to do is be better non the highway. I can also get one used so that will save some money too. at maybe 7k a year a the 1500-2k I save would pay for a lot of gas.

My boss just picked up a 2006 Ninja 250 3500 on the clock with a some rash on the right fairing and pipe from a low speed drop by the previous owner for $1000 a month back. Look around, the quarter litre ninja's are plentiful and can be had for cheap if you can catch the right deal.

They updated them a bit in 2008. I 2008 for 2k-3k with low miles would not be bad. Not sure.

I think the CBR would be a better town bike but then the KLX is a great town bike. I'd say 50% of driving right now is on the highway. The Kawi would be good for that.

No hurry.

I own a CBR 125. If the FI on the 250 is anything like the 125, you'll be better off with a carb. I'm very much pro EFI, but it is so poorly executed on the 125 that small changes in throttle input will make it go in and out of closed loop, even at temperature. In cool weather, it runs so ridiculously rich, if you're not careful, the excess fuel will dilute the crankcase oil to the consistency of water in less than a week.
