Longer Throttle Cable for 06 -07 bikes
#12
Some to allow proper routing to TM36 around the IMS tank, and some more to leave slack for higher bars.
TM36 alone can be installed with stock cable. But I want to route the cable "the long way around" the head stock. That gives a smoother route to the TM36 and helps with the congestion under the IMS tank.
I also get my condoms custom made 4" longer than normal so I'm used to this. I understand if you guys aren't...

The pre- '08 KLR650 clutch cable is about 2 inches longer, and '08+ KLR650 about 4-inches longer than the '06/07 KLX250 clutch cable. Fittings aren't quite the same, but it looks like the KLR cables will work on the KLX250 in a pinch.

Scott, what was the outcome for your 36 pumper throttle cable mystery?

Once everything put together, the stock throttle cable fit after all. I still would like the wire cable to be about 1 cm shorter (or even better, the sheath to be 1 cm longer) as the carb-side adjuster is nearly fully out, the button is in the far position on the carb, and the throttle side adjuster is out a but further than I'd like. However, there's been some other issues and I haven't got to ride yet so we'll see what happens.
