Way cool Red, I was USAF as well. Combat communications, we mobilized our satcom and microwave vans and towed them with 2.5 and 5 ton trucks. I really enjoyed those trucks. They are more off road capable than you would think.

Welcome back Red, my favorite radio station is 92.9 KISM Bellingham. Been listening to it since like the late 70's......suddenly deej realizes he's old. LOL

I've sold a bunch of tensioners for the KLX650s up in the WA/OR area. Apparently the area is more open up there. I'd consider a DRz/KLX400 or big bore kitted KLX250 for sure.

Thanks guys, I'll get more pics and will link a thread to the trip on here. Moving in mid April so right around the corner.

That 09 klx would work nicely, depending on how quickly I can find a job (always hate spending money wen there is no income) I should be able to pick one up soon.

Found this one as well, question is how tight are the trails up there. And the electric start of the 250 helps my bad knee a lot.

That thing is cool beyond words.
I have visions of bouncing down some dusty track in Baja, looking for a good beach to unload and set up base camp.
To me, that seems to be the ultimate ADV truck/RV.
