Default The little black box (cdi)

Pulled the carb on my New Zealand new 2009 bike to find its jetted as per the USA bikes, but the CDI does not have the same numbering as on Bikebandit.com so Iam thinking what are the numbers on the Aus bike?
According to the workshop manual the Aus bike have a differant CDI (more advance = more Hp), can you post up the numbers please.

Does your carb have a TPS? think that's the main reason the box is different. 3D map vs. 2D

No TPS, only one hole in the throttle slide.
so no TPI means its not US?

This is "the good stuff." If it doesn't look like this then I recon' it'll be very similar to the USA spec CDI. Mine is an 07 AUS spec KLX250R.

sorry didn't see your working with an 09. In the US the 09 and 10 don't look like they use the TPS as the earlier bikes did.

I'd guess the amount of advance they put in them may have to do with intended market, fuel quality and or emissions.

Dropping the TPS on the US 09 and 10 probably had more to do with economics, and possibly the addition of evaporative control to meet emissions?

Screw in type CDI, newer style so I'd say the timing is the "dumbed down" US spec. Not 100% though. Anyone got info and able to cross ref' the part #??
