Limits of the stock gear box
?? Way to compare apples with oranges. You're making power on every down stroke of the piston on that KX...unlike the 4 cycle KLX which fires off on every other down-stoke with non-power-making exhaust stokes in-between.

Thats my old 340 motor but it has big compression these motors (both 340,374) aren't any kits.
The 340 red-lined up around 13,000 thats why it may sound different.

Just imagine if you put that time and work into a motor that gave you a good baseline hp in the first place! But it's all about the journey, not the destination. It iss very fun to work on stuff like that.

You really got that bastid up to 50 hp ...... that's insane, my ktm adv puts out just a little more than that.

You wrote 'Croyed', but did you mean 'Cryoed' as in Cryogenic?
I was doing some reading at a website where a company would cryo the gears, then put some sort of micro coating on them, followed by introducing an alkaline agent that burnishes the coating, turning it into a protective, chrome-like surface that makes the gears really strong and also makes shifting easier cause there's less friction.
Beyond my budget, but really interesting.

Yes sir, thats the exact thing I've done it seems to work real well. I've been doing it in my race motors,transmissions and sware by it.
Now you see why I pm you guys because people don't care. But oh well..............
Tossed the parts wasn't going to even post but thought what the hell. Broke a couple teeth off I think thats what I think broke it.
