License plate bracket and rear turn signals Changeout - Pics
So I finally started to mod on my Klx this weekend. The First of many I'm sure. I went ahead and fabricated a new license plate bracket to get rid of that Nasty tail piece and swapped out the rear turn signals for something a Little Smaller. I will also do the front signals and remove the front reflectors once those parts come in. Over all I'm very satisfied with the job and the look.
My only issue was I wasnt able to mount the led the way I wanted. My original plan had been to cut out a flange bent so the light would shine right down on the license plate. Due to clearence issue's I wasnt able to do that. Instead I just pointed it at the underside of the rear fender and it reflects back on the plate. You could also see the the light thru the fender untill I put some electrical tape on the fender underside. I suppose I could attach a little hood or cover to direct the light more downward but I never really ride at night and florida doesnt have inspections so I probably wont hassle with it. Here's some Pics for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.....
UpDate: Ok I just replaced the black electrical tape with a piece of that Shiny A/C duct tape. Reflects back on the plate Perfect
It's like a 100% brighter now. I now know my little bracket and light could stand any police stop or inspection in the country. Change over all I'm satisfied to Totally satisfied.

Lord, that's kind of like I mounted my plate. But what I did was take a hacksaw to my rear underfender that held the plate on. I then cut it down so that the only thing left was the 2 bolt holes that the license plate light mounted to (they're the same width apart as the mounting holes on the license plate holder bracket beneath them). This is all that I left attached as I cut the rest of the underfender off. I then left it mounted the way it was under the green fender but used the left over holes that the light once mounted to to mount the steel oem bracket that holds the plate on itself. It looks somewhat like yours does but yours is at more of an angle than mine. Instead of making a mount I just used the plastic fender that I sliced up with a saw. But be careful as if you jump too hard your back tire will roll the bottom of the plate as it somehow comes in contact with it as the susp. compresses but yours may be at such an angle that you won't have to worry about that. I would have posted pics but I haven't figured it out and don't really want to look into it that bad. It's too bad this forum won't host pics as I have tons of my fully floating front rotor to my license plate mount mod to my BigGun.
