Easy for me - but I have visited the building behind - a Low Energy Test Bed. (But I will not give the game away.)

That 's impressive - you live thousands of miles away but knew where this was.

PS. The building behind is called something like Solaris - it is a test bed for low energy building systems. It is run by the local council and has some offices rented out to small business. There are so many green systems crammed in it is a bit over the top but a good showcase.
The big shiny ***** are just that - big shiny disco ***** - probably to reflect Blackpool's status as the stag and hen capital of England.

PPS I am not really a full on geek, but as I am a Building Services Design Engineer (HVAC) this kind of techie stuff gets us all twitchy.

I typed into google "giant glitter ball beach near blackburn" after seeing your home town in your header. I didn't chime in with the location answer as I didn't think you would be overly impressed seeing as i'm from the UK!! lol

This page comes up as No.1 search result haha: Mirror Ball, Blackpool - Viewpoint in Blackpool, Blackpool - Visit Lancashire

Just as well, don't think my old teeth could handle eating Blackpool rock!!
