The desert rat out in her environs:

A lot of the usual mods on this one, 351 kit, kickstarter, header, KLX300 muffler. But there's a couple that are kind of unusual - the footpegs are relocated backwards a couple inches and the swingarm has been extended about an inch. I run a 110 chain with 13/42 gearing and the snail adjuster is back on the 8 1/2 notch. The wheelbase is now 58 inches. The handlebars are also raised and I re-did the seat to make it flat. The next few mods will be to shed some weight and re-valve the suspension.

Newest mods : z-carbon fork wraps & header wrap.

I will eventually wrap the small section on the other side of the exhaust/header clamp back until it starts to taper larger into the exhaust can.

Nice ride arickrock. The black wrap looks great.

I just got a black 09 sf about a month ago. The only mod it seems to have is a slip on FMF Powercore 4 and snorkel removed. The previous owner had just replaced the tires with Rinaldi R34, 130/80 rear and 120/90 front!! crazy I know, but it doesnt drive bad, although I have nothing to compare to as this is my first motorcycle. This tire size makes the odometer run 11% under actual distance.

I added a 5k xenon bulb and set rear sag. I have a dynojet kit on the way, as well as .018" drill bit for the starter jet and plan on removing airbox lid.

Glad to be part of this forum, you guys have awesome advice and great bikes.

Those tires look nice. This is also my first bike and am loving it. So far it is running to good for me to mess with the carb/jetting at all. Mine still has the stock tires on it and I was thinking about some 80/20 tires for the next set. Did the xenon bulb just plug right in? Notice a big difference? Stock light is lacking some output if you ask me.....

Almost have my klx set up the way I want it. Only mods I have left will be the Acerbis 3.7 gal tank and some braided stainless steel brake lines.

That BB351 takes a good kick to come to life! I'm really liking the foot pegs I made as well.

HDB hand guards match the green on the bike perfectly.

No, its not plug and play but its pretty simple. It has a harness that you plug into the battery and the original bulb socket, then you plug the new bulb into that. Hardest part was figuring out where to mount the ballast and other parts of the harness. I placed the ballast under the tank above the engine head, the rest I zip tied to the frame on the side of the tank. Its nearly invisible unless you know where to look.

There was a huge difference in light output. It has more scatter on the sides and bottom but the top cutoff is pretty good.

Nice clear sky with a couple of control burns visible in the area.
