Thanks! The only bigger jet than 128 i have is a 132 so I'll throw that in there first and order a 38 pilot too. If thats running OK for you thats where I'll start

That will work. Better to be a little rich when using pump gas. Never know what your buying.

jabara,
I found the 38 pilot at Rocky Mountain ATV in their OEM parts section. If you look up a 2007 KLR650, it runs a 40 pilot but the 38 is listed as an optional parts. The KLR runs a larger CVK carb, but the jets fit our CVK.
To answer your question specifically, the Kawi p/n is:
92064-1050 JET-PILOT,#38 | (OPTION)
Hope that helps,
TC

Actually, I don't know if it is brilliant BUT, I have been thinking the same thing as I get used to my 331... (I am poking fun at myself - please nobody be offended!)
I do believe there is more noticable "vibration" but also sense that each powerstroke of the motor is more defined? I have not taken an all day ride yet due to lousy NW weather, but the 250 had enough vibration to give me tingly fingers on long rides. I know that there has been a lot of discussion on piston weigh and balance with the big bore kits, and talk of how precisely balanced the motor actually was in 250 form, since the balance shaft hasn't changed since the motor was a 300?
I guess my only concern about the validity of my/your "thumper feel" idea is that there are a lot of bigger thumpers out there.
What does a KLR650 feel like in comparison? I don't know. Hopefully those who have experience with KLRs, KLXs, and KLX BBs will chime in!
Thinking out loud,
TC
