Just for everyones information the great state of vermont will register any bike over 70cc.Just send a copy of your title and the registration form and you get a clean title and plate in about four days.you can keep it registered in vermont or use the clean title and register it in your own state. The only problem is your states inspection .nj has private inspection stations so you can buy a sticker anywhere.

you don't need a vermont address to obtain a title?

I have a 2007 KLX300R and I bought it to ride in the desert. Great bike. Recently, I started thinking about making it street legal so I could ride to the trails that are within 5 or so miles of my house. I now know that I live in a wonderful state. In Arizona these are the requirements you need to make a Bike or Quad street legal:
[ul][*]Brake light[*]License Plate light[*]Mirror[*]Horn Audible from 200 feet[*]Emissions test if the Bike or Quad is five years or older
[/ul]I don't see any reason not to get it plated. That would solve all the issues of, "Does this trail require RV plates, a sticker, or both?"

No you dont need to be a resident, i used to regester all my dirtbikes andatvs in vermont just to get the {off road only} off the title.
Just go to vermont dmv and all the forms can be filled out online.

Someone should give it a try and see if this loop hole still exists. If so, I might sell the KLX250S and dual sport a WR ?

I am not sure if a lot of people know this but ktm's come with a street bike title, you can register and plate them very easily. Its up to you to put any required lights and anything else you would need for inspections.

A friend of mine has a KTM 525 and I am not sure what they call it but his is the MX bike. It's not the EXC dual sport. He got a legal tag for it and put some lights on now it is street legal in GA.
