Miaugi, I did not see a change in ride height.
Wow, almost forgot how sharp you guys are. First, I've got the bike set up for street use, with 17's front and rear. Commuting, I don't often see circumstances where I'm likely to bottom out. Second, at my weight and having no pre-load adjustment on the forks (other than adding spacers inside), I feel the extra length has done the same for the front as going as far down as possible on the spring has done for the rear. That is, until I get a proper rear spring. Another thing, I wasn't just stuck on Race-Tech. The issue was that I needed to order parts to be waiting for me to install when I got home from overseas. I didn't have the resources to call and talk to the various spring companies while I was over there. These companies don't exactly make it easy to get precisely what you need without going through them to get it.

 

Whoa! 10 months later and I run across this thread while looking for the correct springs to "jam" into my forks. Anybody do the spring and valve/emulator switch all in one shot? Who did you go with? How much was it and how do you like the results?

 

It wouldn't be an emulator that you'd want. Those are for ported orifice dampers on lower end bikes or very old forks. We have shimmed dampers on our KLX's. I did the Race Tech KLX300 springs and the Gold Valve kits for the 300 on my '06 KLX250. My KLX and the 300 have the same travel...11" For the '09 and later models...10"...I'd go with the Moto Pro springs and their valve kit. Feral Donkey, David R, and Red went with the Moto Pro setup. It works.
