Red do you like diesels? jk... Forced induction is awesome on gas motors, many oem's these days are putting out turbo models. Chevy cruise eco is a turbo that gets 42 mpg. When a gas motor is designed as a forced induction platform problems are rare. My vw 1.8 turbo 20v four has 160k and has run 15lbs of boost since the engine was broken in. Doesnt use a drop of oil and still runs great. Fuel injection and computers have made all the turbo issues of the 70s/80s a thing of the past. Now putting a turbo on a klx is an over the top project, to many issues with turbos and carbs remember the turbo trans am of the late 70s or early 80s. Might be easier to do on the FI WR250.

Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Twin Turbo 365 HP and a wopping 420 FT of Torque with great gas mileage. More Horse Power and Torque then their own 5.0L V8 and the Chevy 5.3L V8. Turbos are the future. Chevy has had the EcoTec for some time also.
I would love a Cobalt SS (2008-2010), 2.0L 4 banger with 260 Horse power and 260 feet of torque.

maybe just a little . Currently in the process of building a 6.5 turbo diesel to put into my 87 crew cab long bed pickup. The built big block (about a 7.9L) thats under the hood is making about 510ft/lbs of torque, just cant pass a gas station to save its life which kills me on the highway with 7mpg cruising at 60-65mph. Slow build process hope to have the truck back on the road this summer, doing a frame off rebuild hopefully starting in may.

I'd like to build a turbo diesel dual sport, thinking maybe using a 90's klx650. That project wont get started for at least a year though, other things are higher on the project list.

Seen the bikes on other threads and youtube vid, but not that page. 120 mpg...now that's some dual sporting potential there.

they've been talking about making that one available to the public for the last few years but the 'potential' price tag is about 15k from what they've been saying here in the states, absurd. Add a little turbo to that thing it should make substantially more power as well. Here is the same bike that is now for sale in India Altius Scimitar 670cc Diesel Motorcycle primed for an India launch in 2012! | IndianCarsBikes.in. I'm not a big fan of the KLR series, but I would love to take that motor, slap a turbo on it, and stuff it into a KLX

I just got a Ford F150 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Twin Turbo. The whine of the turbos is awesome. I drove the V8, nice exhaust note but the fuel economy and power of the V6 is well worth it. Turbos are on there way back! Maybe bikes will see them in the future.

Direct Injection is the future... read more into the new F150 and you'll become a believer.

Direct injection is basically diesel technology for gas engines... the turbo is a nice addition too :-)

I dream of direct injection for modern dirtbikes... two cycles go em' already, its our turn now.
