On the airbox lid with the BB351 kit, I'm not sure I understand the recommendation to keep the airbox lid with the more open snorkel...KDX or whatever it is. As long as one rejets to fit the increased airflow, why not have the intake opening as large as possible? Some bikes require a very large, undisturbed "dead air" chamber to operate at optimum performance, but I don't think removing the lid on a KLX airbox has any real negatives to speak of.

Yeah I hear ya, I'm gonna put it back on simply beacuse Bill said to and get my bike tuned properly. Then I'll start messing around with removing it.

Hey I just put on the megabomb and powercore 4 and removed the lid and snorkel. I jetted it with #128 main jet and e clip on the 3rd notch. The bike is running lean. At high rev it cuts outs and died on me.

Should I put the 132 main jet or keep the 128 and move the e clip to a different notch?

If you still have the Kawa' filter it's probably running rich not lean.
Moving the clip is a quick job, try that first, but with the mods you've already done I suggest fitting a free flowing filter like a Twin Air or Uni.
You'll need to remove the air box lid completely too, for the best performance.

The lid and snorkel is off with stock air filter. My k&n air filter should be here tomorrow so I'll through that on and see how she runs before messing with the carb.

I was looking at my spark plug and it looks greyish white. I think its running lean. I was wondering if i should switch the main jet from 128 to 132 or should i mess with the air/gas screw first. It set 2.5 turns out. or should I move the e clip? its set at 3rd down from the top.

Hi, this might seem obvious but it does catch me out sometimes. Most people on this forum ride klx250S not the SF and give advice for the S. There are some minor differences when ordering parts online!

A few examples on gearing & suspension:
S stock gearing is 14/42
SF stock gearing is 14/39

Chain length:
S stock 106
SF stock 104

fork travel is shorter on the SF & springs are harder front & rear. The clicker settings for dampening are different to the S as well........be very careful when ordering online, there are very few places that have a genuine selection of SF parts.

Most everything else seems to fit from 09 onwards as long as it states SF or D-Tracker-x if ordering from Japan. hope this helps

I was wondering where and what kind of air filter to put in my klx250 I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Then there's the jetting I can't seem to tell whats the best for it.
And te emissions stuff do I just plug all that does that help?
Sorry I'm new to the forum. Any help would be great.
