Default KLX250s Mods done, is speedo off now?

OK i got done doing my second rejet because it would surge at WOT with a 125.5 jet. I ended up using 122.5 main, 2 shims, K@N, DG slip on Air box lid with no snorkle( wouldnt get enough air with a KDX300 snorkle) 13 tooth front and this thing rocks, a real screamer the way it should have been built. Wheelies easily, 40 foot long rooster tails in the dirt and screams right up to 60 quick.

My questions is with the 13 tooth is my speedo now off? by how much? How can i correct it?

thanks

Speedo is connected to the front wheel so gearing should make no difference. These speedos are known for running 5 to 10% high. If you really need to know, check against a gps or another vehicle with known accuracy.

OK Great, thanks for the info. The bike will still do 70 easy, I dont know why anyone would keep the 14 tooth, the 13 makes it rock with jetting and exhaust.

Just depends on the person's riding style.

I'm running a 45 rear and switch between 13 & 15, and occasionally the stock 14, on the front depending on what I'm doing.

The Yamaha WR250R speedo runs of the transmission. Gear changes make the speedo off on that bike.

That's what we're saying. You aren't doing 70, you're only doing 60+. If you really want to do 70 then you need your speedo so show 77 or more. It's pretty ridiculous and one of the reasons I put on a vapor so that my speedo it accurate.

Oh and I love the stock gearing. Wouldn't change it. When you want to sit at 60 for awhile, the engine is already screaming. Any higher up front and 1st gear would be too tall, and lower up front and I couldn't jump on the highway.

Whats a vapor?
If i want to go cruising at 70 on the freeway, i sure am not going to want to do it on a little bike like this, although it wouldn't be a issue for short distances. My ranch isn't flat, the tall first gear is great because i don't have to sit on the brake while idling down steep hills. For freeway Cruising I would get on my VTX 1800. My KLX has a specific use, freeway riding isn't one of them. But everyone has their own use for their bike.
thanks

Vapor is a speedometer with other functions. The speedo is adjustable. I like mine.
