Does anyone know if a big bore kit from another kawsaki would work on our KLXs?
The sleeve you want to work with is the one from the KLX300. It is a direct swap-in replacement for the stock sleeve and bumps the bike up to 292cc from 249. If you go that route, there's no boring or any of that involved, it's just a strait forward sleeve and piston replacement and the miscellaneous parts required for that job (piston pin, clips, rings, gaskets).

If you want more that 292cc, you need to send the 292cc sleeve off to be overbored. A number of shops do that. I went with Kustom Kraft based on recommendations on advrider. I have no complaints - they did the work, it looks good, and it was done and back to me within the timeframe they said it would take. The also supply the "kit", i.e., the piston, rings, gaskets, etc - everything you need. I don't have a whole lot of miles on it since installing mine, maybe about 800 or so, but I haven't had any problems. Longer term verdict is still out of course, but so far so good.

No because he always is saying you never need to use your front brake on a dirt bike. I say" Yeah I wouldn't either if I was going that slow. "
