i dunno if anyone has thought of this before...i tried to search the net for this, nothing...here is the issue:

the klx250 (2010 till now) seat is typically short like any other dual sport or dirt bike. when im on the bike (im not a slim guy) and have a pillion behind me, he/she wld have his/her butt half off the seat and on the plastics (or the small tool case if u havent removed it), even with me shifted to the front as comfortably as i can go. i wld think most klx250 riders that bring along pillions wld face this problem.

on top of that, the seat is so uncomfortable for the pillion that he will have butt pain within half an hour of riding.

so, i wld like to see if i can extend the seat maybe 4-5 inches to the rear, and add enough foam to not kill the pillions butt (thicker and wider foam). anyone done this before? sort of like a sergeant seat but longer at the rear. i understand this will put more load on the weak rear subframe, but i will add some braces to reinforce that.

by the way, im from Malaysia, way the other side of the world, with a 2010 klx250 FI and on 17" road wheels n tires.

A thought without looking at my own bike... You could make a plate that bolts on in place of the tool bag forward to the seat, then have it upholstered to match and mate up with the seat at the back.

 

Might want to think about reinforcing the subframe if you ride with a passenger.
