Having had a love/hate relationship with a Gen I KLR650, I'm all over these Gen II bikes since they seem to have fixed all my gripes with the original. I can't wait for a choice used example with 500 miles on it to show up on cycletrader for $3K in a year or so I'll be all over it, just like my first KLR
I never had the chance to ride the first gen KLR. A16Tony offered me a chance but i declined.
I am extremlly impressed as of now with this bike. I can not wait until I get some more miles on it to really open it up. And it is so much more comfie then the KLX do not get me wrong the KLX will always have a home it is a great short slab bike that is setup nicely fore the trails.
I just needed something more and I feel I found it with the KLR

Very nice!

I just got my July issue of Motorcyle Consumer News and they did a full road test on it and gave it rave reviews.

They summarized it by saying:

"Remarkable confort and versatility, from dirt to freeways"
"Greatly improved suspension, brakes and seating"
"A terrific value for the money"

Their only complaints were:

Expected originalrear tire life of about 4000 miles, non adjustable shifter, and a speedo error of 10%.
As far as I'm concerned, those would benon-issues.

EDIT: Oh by the way, you did pick the right color.

Alright now you did it, I'm gonna look into one soon.........yea right, my wife although cool, and loves to ride too, would slash my tires if I even mentioned it. I gotta pay off some bills first, by that time I'll be looking at the 2020 model. Nice bike, and of course you got the right color. Man I'm jealous.

Nice! I'll bet that bike is an awesome street bike. It looks like you could ride forever on that big nice seat. Congratulations on the new addition!
