Default KLX engine suspension, steering upgrade.

Well guys,
Got it out for the first run today.
Completely different bike.
Still to fine tune the fuelling but its wicked.
So much more usable power.
And the handling is awesome.
I fitted racetech springs , gold valves.
A WER steering damper,
And Outex triple clamp braces.

Handling and steering are fantastic now, so responsive.

Still to finish running it in but i think the high speed wobble will be fixed.

I would like to thank everyone for their input when i came across problems.

George

No, But there are a lot of pictures on my profile of the work.
331 BB kit.
Ported head with 1" bigger intake valves.
New clutch,
New stator. (Earth modification done at the time)
EJK fuel controller set up for 331 cc
FMF power bomb and Q4 exhaust.
K&N air filter.
330 mm front brake disc upgrade.
Rear shock . Fitted new Racetech spring and gold valve kit.
Front forks fitted fitted Racetech springs and gold valve kit.
Installed WER steering damper and new head bearings.
1.75 " lowering kit.
Outex fork triple clamp brace fitted.

Going to do another 50 KM today then change the oil and filter.
Change the coolant hoses and coolant.
Fit a new oil and water pump.
And continue with the fuel settings, (Looks like its running rich with the settings at present with the air box lid off.

Still trying to get the fuelling right, EJK controller is at its lowest settings and just doesnt run the same with the lid and KDX snorkel on. Bit lumpy unless full throttle. then at 8,000rpm just gets really lumpy and stops pulling. plug out and its really black, Too much juice. So i took the lid off completely and tried again ,, Holy ****, nearly came off the back when leaving the house, hehehhe, What a difference, but have the intake noise now. Will take it for another 30 km blast tomorrow to check the plug again,, I think i might have an issue with the TPS also. FI light has been on since i bought the bike. I assumed it was because it had a TBR juice box fitted but now i read that it should not be on ,, All fun and games. The saga continues. Looks like i will have to change sprockets. might try a 15T / 51T combo.

Is your EJK their stock unit for the 331? I ask because when I got mine it wouldn't work. It would just barely start at the highest settings but WAY too lean. Thought they sent me a 250 unit. Put my second EJK I had from my 250 on and definitely different...wouldn't start at all. Anyway, sent it back and they said they found a program/map from Japan that gives a lot more juice. (Had some code marked on the back) Worked like a charm. It sits around the lower numbers, 2 or 3.

I've always wondered if something was off with my build or something wrong with the EJK's original settings. Been 7000km's and all is well.

Yes, it is the one for the 331. I had one originally a TBR juice box which came with the bike. I have fabricated a new lid for my air box to get rid of some of the intake growl, but works like a ram air at top speed. This seems to be working very well. Bit rough as i did not want to spend much time on it until i saw whether it worked or not. Its pulling 10,000rpm in top gear at the moment. and i think i can still fine tune the EJK controller a little bit. I will post some pics of the Ram air airbox lid i made. I think it pulls fast from 80 kph to 130 with the ram air lid on. But just did it today and drove about 50km with it. So will let ya all know how i get on.
PS
Is you FI light on when you installed your EJK ?
Mine has been on since i bought the bike but just thought it was the juicebox .

Thought i would try and put a ram air lid on top of my air box to cut the noise down,

Much less intake noise, And pulls stronger from 50 kph up . Still messing with the fueling to see if i can get it better.

Local Indonesian exhaust against a standard exhaust, (Although it maybe be a KLX 300 header.) Not sure.. The Indo one has a really small pipe at the start of the header opening right up to the enormous size going onto the end can.

Mine never came on. I'm wondering what's causing yours to come on? Could try reading the fault code to point you in the direction. I had an issue once with the rpm's staying around 3.5k at idle. Error code said it was the throttle body sensor. Dealership found it was dirty. After a cleaning, it worked fine.

Yes, I read your post. I am going to take the throttle body off and have a look. i wanted to remove the second butterfly from it but not sure how to , and cannot see any clear instructions on here how to do it. I will do a diagnostics before i take it apart. to see what error code im getting .
