Will the 04 klx300 head pipe fit our bike. Found one for 50.00 . Is this a good deal.

 

Yes it will fit. If it is like new is OK but can be had for less if your willing to wait. Then again a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

 

& by fit I meant with a 300 stock or aftermarket muffler.

 

The 300 headpipe will fit, not with your stock 250 exhaust though. The 300 and 250 headers are a different length and the pipe/can connection is bigger on the 300 even though they have the same bore header. I picked up a full 300 system for $50+ shipping on ebay.

 

$50 for just the head pipe seems a little steep. Like Josh said you should be able to get the whole exhaust for $50. The 300 header will also be no performance gain over the 250 header. It will allow you to use the stock 300 muffler which is an improvement(when the butt plug is removed) over the 250 muffler. It will also let you use slip ons designed for the 300.

 

IMO, the biggest bang for the buck is a Four Stroke Works head pipe for aKLX300 and a stock exhaust with the butt plug removed from a KLX 300. The header will be about $150.00 and I have seen KLX 300 exhausts on e-bay for as little as about$10.00. That combo will give as much or more power than any other "full system".

btw speaking of buttpluugs go look at the 09' thread here. friggin thing pratically has a 1/2inch diameter[:@]

 

The 06 and 07's have the same 1/2" exhaust outlet. The stock 300 is 1.5" diameter.

 

The butt plug has nothing to do with the spark arrestor. Its just a plate with a tiny hole in it.

 

Careful guys, I don't know about the whole butt plug thing. I am going to get the supertrapp slip on eventually.
