Default KLX 250s clutch issues

I bought myself a used 2018 Kawasaki KLX250s with about 1200 miles on her. I finally got around to riding off road and everything was going well until my I had an unusual problem with my clutch. Every time I stalled the bike, my clutch lever got very stiff and my clutch wouldn't engage even though the lever was pulled in all the way. The thing that stumps me is this only happened when the bike stalled, if I used the kill switch to turn it off the clutch would act normal when I would start it again.

Any ideas?

This is a strange one to me for such low miles.
Is the clutch cable dry, sticky, kinked or otherwise damaged?
If the cable looks and operates properly, it may be time to open the clutch and/or side cover and search for anything that seems wrong.

Unlikely that the clutch cable is binding unless it's been damaged. The other area I would inspect is the actuator arm/throwout bearing interface-make sure nothing is trying to chew itself up in there.
