All of a sudden out of nowhere (700 miles) the bike wont start and the RED FI light is constantly on. It ticks over and starts, but dies 3 or so seconds later.

Anyone got any ideas what this could be on such a new bike ?

 

i had that problem shortly after tilting the bike over on side for oil filter change cause was properly vacuum in the tank try starting it with tank lid open
if it runs fine blow air through the holes next to where the gas goes in

 

try checking battery voltage even try giving it a good charge

 

It wont start with the fuel cap open

I dont have a battery charger!!. I will look into getting one.

If it was the battery though, why is the FI light on?

 

battery draining to much trying to charge the system voltage gets to low and efi gets error and shuts off (theory)
do not forget to check battery connections are fastened properly
