May do this weekend. No need to even remove cams, just sprockets.

I'm doing it too David. My 351 kit will be here tomorrow and I'm going to get started then. I'll let you know how it goes.

Does this work with the web camshafts? or are they setup for the stock acr and reground for the same gains??

This mod literally appears to be free power?

I donīt know what timings & duration webCams have , I believe not , those people are in the aftermarket cam business for some reason . I think they would sell you some cams that have the same effect .
Yeah , free power and torque .

Please read slowly and carefully the original post , mind the ACR .
The post doesnīt explain the A-B-Cīs : how to reset your automatic tensioner , that you need to put threadlock on the camshaft bolts , etc . If you donīt fully understand the mod it may be better to have some asistence from a friend with more mechanical knolege .

I've got my much more engine-savvy friend coming over right now. He's going to be able to help me get this mod down. We are also rejetting my carb and installing the 351 kit.

Very interesting. Read the first post about three times and it's starting to make sense hahaa

It does make sense.

I'm going to let a few others try this before I dive in. I've been way too intimate with my bike's internals over the winter so I'm in no rush to dive in again anytime soon.. It's running like a champ. hahaa

Interested to see the results.

David,
If you do manage to do this, it would be great if you could do one of your step by steps for those following down the road, for the KLX faq sticky.
Thanks, and thanks again to the OP for digging in and figuring it out!! \
This is probably the best free mod yet.

Marcelino, did you degree the cams after this procedure?

Stunning! Marcelino, you get my vote for the GOTM (Genius Of The Month).

More so because you have dyno access and can confirm experimentally the changes, which would be unbelievable otherwise. Lucky you, now I must arrange to get dyno access too...

Now, where's the poll for GOTM
