Well we got it done! Mark (klx250s_rider) and myself (okay, he did most of the work-told me to write it all down for you guys) put on the HMF muffler and yes, we needed the spacer. We also rejetted the carb, #38 pilot/#125 main, drilled the slide vent, fuel screw 2-1/2 turns out from bottom, N1TC on slot 2, removed the smog stuff and plugged the holes and replaced the air filter with a UNI. Replaced the spark plug with the coveted Iridium, changed the oil filter and oil with synthetic. It started right up We went for a ride in the desert (nice and cloudy) and the bike felt so much faster I love the sound of the new muffler too!!!! I'd include some pics but I know Deej wouldn't like them

Oh and working on the YZ is much easier!

 

Congrats! I just rode today with taller bars and the Two Brothers Racing pipe (didn't re-jet yet). And that felt faster. I'm sure the bikes amazing with ALL the upgrades!

Yeah IMO, the HMF sounds better than any other muffler on the KLX. I never gettired of listening to it. I still think it makes it sound more like a Honda than a Kawi though.....
