KLX250s Kickstarter

 

(99999-0073) is the p/n for the kickstarter kit and you will also need the r/h footpeg mount for a 06/07 p/n (34003-1401-458) so the lever will clear. Looks like about $400 for both items-I'd just make sure that the battery is in good shape....

 

Don't stop at the bottom of a raven & normally you can always bump start!

 

The little 250 should bump start fairly easily and no chance I would spend $450 on a peg and kickstarter kit.

 

I have the kicker and it has never saved my ****. However, teh peace of mind it brings has been very valuable.

I didn't install it. My dealer put it on to "see how easy it was".

 

And how easy was it, did the dealer say?

 

The reason I bought the bike was for the electric start. I paid for it by way of extra weight on the bike (starter motor, battery), why would I want to add MORE weight by putting a kick on it??

Hint: Install a battery tender on your bike. Get your buddy to do the same. Then make a cross-over cable so you can use his bike to jump yours by just connecting the cable from bike to bike. Bump starting is option 2.

I thought it was pretty easy, just took some time. Follow the instructions exactly as there are a number of gears and shims and bits and pieces. I wrote it up in my 351 build thread and referenced two or three other kickstarter install threads.

 

For me, it was peace of mind (and I got it cheap), I'm off the grid and on a 0ºF morning the kicker warms me up and gets the bike going, after the battery starts to slow down.
I bump start when there is no snow or ice on my driveway and traction is good.
I also like kicking bikes over for some reason...
