putting some 761 on 09 250 S

going to be used for light street riding mostly

it has tubes in tires

what air pressure you guys using for daily street riding

 

I run 32 psi on the road. I got my bike with the 761s, but went to a Duro Median set due to past experience and more off roading. I run 32 psi in them on the road.

 

Post up if you find them out of round.

 

I had that tire on my KLR650 and hated it. They were almost slippery. Went back to the 270s.

 

I had the 270's on my Yamaha. Man, did they stick on the road. Very good grip on the street for a knobbie tire.

 

32 psi sounds high...
I run 25 rear 22 front and I feel the road.. I'm running Perelli Scorpions

 

It has proven pretty much perfect on the 650 when chasing my friends around on their supermotos or sportbikes. It is a road pressure, not too good for off road. There I'm around 18-20. Run the same in the 250.

Seems most street bike pressure when it comes to performance riding will range from around 32-35 psi from what I've read, ridden, and observed. The lower pressures are usually more for the cush and comfort, although I do see some of the supermoto riders drop into the mid to high 20s.


I'll stick with the 32 psi when road riding, because of about 30,000 miles of experience with the grip on the KLX650... fast enough in the corners to always be "appointed" the leader. It also earned the KLX the nick name "Hawk killer" after a Superhawk riding buddy kinda did a slow cruise off the edge of the road chasing me on SR60 in Ohio. They had to keep pressing me - so I picked it up a bit...
